Does my boiler need a service?


Your boiler should be serviced annually by a corgi qualified engineer to ensure correct and efficient operation. If your boiler begins to make a noise or is under performing it should be inspected as soon as possible by a corgi engineer.
A new boiler is far more energy efficient and will save you money in the long term.
New boilers produce less carbon dioxide while still meeting heating needs, reduce the amount of heat that is lost through the flue compared with ordinary boilers, and convert 86 per cent or more of the fuel they use into useful heat (older types of ordinary boilers may convert as little as 60 per cent of fuel to useful heat).

If it makes rattling, or rumbling noises, it is likely a service will do it the world of good.
Some of your radiators may have stopped working or only have patches of heat.
If your central heating has stopped working completely, a service may be all that is required to fix it.
However, new central heating systems are far more energy efficient and will save you money in the long term.

Reducing your Heating Bills


Turn your thermostat down a few degrees, you‘ll hardly notice the difference. This alone you could save as much as 10 per cent on heating bills
Install a new boiler and central heating system.
These will be both more efficient at generating heat, and at keeping your water warm for longer.
Use thermostats for heating and hot water. Install radiator valves with thermostats included. Use electronic timers for heating. Insulate your house - roof, loft, walls, floors, double glazing, windows, doors.

Combi Boiler


Combi boilers (or combination boilers) generate water on demand for your taps and central heating from within the boiler unit. Combi boilers are easily the most popular boiler type, accounting for over 50% of all new boiler sales within the UK.

Central heating systems incorporating combi boilers have fewer overall components. By installing a combi boiler, the cold water feed tank, often housed in the loft, is not required.
Not needing this hot water storage saves you valuable space and reduces the heat loss that occurred previously from the stored water. As a result combi boilers can be more energy efficient than other boiler types and save you money.
